We are excited to announce the release of the Unique Places to Save Five Year Strategic Plan. This comprehensive roadmap charts our course for creating sustainable growth and maximizing our conservation impact from 2026 to 2030.
Since our founding, we have established a strong record of performance by completing 117 conservation-related projects. Together with our partners, we have protected over 8,700 acres and supported the permanent protection of more than 140 miles of streams across 10 states.
Now, we are preparing for an even brighter future.
Our new strategic plan envisions how we will expand our land protection, strengthen our stewardship systems, and apply our proven models to new environmental markets. Over the next five years, our primary strategic goals include:
Expanding Conservation Impact: We are working toward a goal of 20,000 total acres conserved. Alongside this, we aim to reach over 300 stream miles restored. Furthermore, we plan to protect an additional 3,000 acres of vital wetland habitats.
Ensuring Excellence in Stewardship: We plan to double our Stewardship Fund to over $8 million. This targeted growth will provide the capacity needed to effectively monitor and legally defend conservation easements across the nation.
Diversifying Revenue Streams: We will further increase our healthy operating reserves while we continue to work on actively diversifying our funding sources.
Investing in Our Team & Operations: We will expand our staff capacity to meet current and future project needs. We are also implementing new technologies and investing in professional development that supports our team members.
Amplifying Our Voice: We intend to communicate the depth of our impact through compelling, human-focused storytelling. As part of this outreach, we aim to grow our social media presence to over 30,000 followers across all accounts.
Through all of these efforts, we remain firmly anchored by our mission to restore and conserve natural and working lands and aquatic resources.

Did you hear we conserved over 1,000 critical acres in Texas?
Amidst the rapid suburban and industrial expansion in Southeast Texas, preserving the region's remaining natural landscapes has become increasingly important.
In a major victory for the area, Unique Places to Save has secured the Batiste Creek Conservation Easement in Liberty County.
This 1,218-acre sanctuary permanently safeguards forested bottomlands, including over 200 acres of native wetlands, and nearly eight miles of streams, directly supporting water quality and floodwater storage within the Pine Island Bayou watershed.
As Unique Places to Save approaches 9,000 total acres of protected land, this easement protects an ecological investment in clean water, storm resilience, and the enduring natural character of the Texas Gulf Coastal Plain.
