The forested buffer helps to improve the water quality of Second Creek which flows into High Rock Lake, a reservoir of Davidson and Rowan counties, NC.
The forested buffer within the Easement Property also establishes connectivity to nearby fragmented forested areas for safe wildlife passage.
Jigsaw protects 21.5 acres along Second Creek in Rowan County, under easement since 2018, with the stream restoration and enhancement work carried out by RES. Because Second Creek flows into High Rock Lake, the benefit of that forested buffer reaches well past the property line. Unique Places to Save holds the easement, so the buffer is protected permanently rather than for the length of a contract.
