The easement property currently looks like a beautiful open meadow, but this vegetation will continue to grow and establish a dense riparian buffer that will support biodiversity and help protect the sensitive stream and wetland ecosystem.
Banished Bull protects 8.3 acres in the Neuse River Basin of Orange County, under easement since 2021, with the restoration work carried out by Watershed Investments. At 8.3 acres this is a small property, and what the easement buys is time for that young vegetation to mature into a dense buffer. Unique Places to Save is the conservation easement grantee, so the cattle stay out and the buffer is protected permanently.
