Located in the Yadkin Pee Dee River Basin of Surry County NC

The Hair Sheep Creek Conservation Mitigation Easement is located in a valley between rolling hills of cattle pasture, fragmented forest, and some residential area. The restored stream channels aim to help water transport in a non-erosive manner, which was a common issue before restoration. The native riparian buffers and wetland areas that were planted help absorb nutrient and sediment runoff from surrounding agricultural operations which in turn, help to improve water quality of the Yadkin Pee Dee Watershed.
