The Red Barn Conservation Mitigation Easement is located near Mount Airy, North Carolina in the rolling hills of the upper Piedmont region of NC. The Easement Property is directly adjacent to cattle and livestock pasture.
The Easement Property consists of restored riparian streams and thriving native wetlands that assist in absorbing damaging runoff before it enters the sensitive stream systems and ultimately, the Yadkin Pee Dee River.
Red Barn protects 25.4 acres in the Yadkin Pee Dee River Basin, under easement since 2019, with the stream restoration and enhancement carried out by EPR. With cattle and livestock pasture right next door, the restored streams and native wetlands take up runoff before it reaches the sensitive stream systems that feed the Yadkin Pee Dee River. Unique Places to Save is the conservation easement grantee, so that protection is permanent.
